Here is ValuesJammer Jenny Haase modelling a ValuesJam hoodie. ValuesJammer Lissette Noboa will be delighted to see the merchandise she helped to create ‘out there’. You can browse at ValuesJam – Values for Fashion
“Thanks for the ValuesJam Kindness hoodie! It arrived just in time for the season’s biggest snowstorm here in Utah. Great way to get cozy and warm in the cold! (My daughter Ashley is testing my commitment to Kindness, though … suggesting I might consider giving the hoodie to her!)”
What are your favourite song lyrics about Happiness?
Here’s some to get you started:
Huh (Because I’m happy)
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I’m happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I’m happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I’m happy)
Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

Values Jammer in the Spotlight-
Who are you?
I am Alan Williams and most of my attention and energy is drawn to the topic of values. Through my company SERVICEBRAND GLOBAL Ltd I help progressive leaders to design and deliver values-driven service for sustained performance. I am a published author and international speaker on a range of topics including values, leadership, and organizational alignment. I founded the Global Values Alliance, have been involved with UK Values and World Values Day since the beginning and have started other values related initiatives like the 31Practices approach, Global Poetry Showcase, Sawubona Certificate and, of course, the ValuesJam card game. I am a NED with BQF and involved with the World Kindness Movement. Outside of these activities I have four amazing grown up children, enjoy photography, travel, good food and wine, and sport (watching!)
What are your core values?
Excellence – Doing things so well that people take personal pride in their involvement and it receives admiration from others
Creation – Fresh thinking and relationships to create value
Adaptability – Agile adjustment to changing circumstances
Kindness – thinking like others for others, and remembering myself
Enjoyment – I remember how privileged I am do be doing whatever it is
Why did you join the ValuesJam community?
In advance of World Values Day 2021, people were saying how valuable values-led conversations could be to connect people but there wasn’t an easy way to do this. I had the idea to create a card game and co-founder Lisa Birtles helped to make this a reality.
How are you using your ValuesJam card decks?
The ValuesJam Guest Session Series for 2023 is so uplifting and inspiring. Values-led conversations with interesting people from different backgrounds and geographies all around the world.
I love the versatility of the ValuesJam card decks which can be used 1:1 or with groups, in schools, workplaces, with family and friends, for short or long sessions. Anything goes really!
Fave rock n roll moment of magic from a ValuesJam session?
There are so many! One with Pauline Crawford is definitely up there when we had a ValuesJam about Wealth. We concluded that our wealth is the sum of all our life experiences and envisaged wearing it as a cloak with memories, events, videos, pictures etc to give us power. It was purple which is Pauline’s favourite colour.
Another was with Devyani Vaishampayan when we drew a card at random and it was the one Devyani had been thinking about the night before. Spooky!
How could better HAPPINESS improve the world?
The media seems so geared towards stories about disaster and bad news. I am in favour of factual reporting but am convinced there is a lot of good happening in the world creating a lot of happiness which is not celebrated, and could be. There would then be a knock on effect and perhaps more people would feel uplifted and positive (not for the sake of it, but because they feel it).
What drew you to adopt the ValuesJam card ENJOYMENT?
it was a choice between this and Excellence. I tend to be generally demanding of myself and this is driven by my value of Excellence. I therefore decided to cut myself a bit of slack by going for Enjoyment.
