World Smile Day – A day started by Harvey Ball, creater of the smiley, as a day which is dedicated to smiles and kind acts throughout the world.

World Teachers Day – Where would we be without the value of Learning and education?.

Shwmae Su’mae Day – An annual celebration of the Welsh Language, encouraging people to have a go at speaking Welsh with their friends. Not sure this should be here but co-founder Alan is Welsh!

World Singing Day – World Singing Day is a global sing-along held annually on the 3rd Saturday in October. As a catalyst for positive human connection, this one day each year serves as an opportunity to celebrate our global family through the international language of music.

Diwali – the Hindu festival of Lights, which is celebrated with fireworks, decoration and feasting.
What is World Values Day?
World Values Day is an annual campaign to increase the awareness and practice of values around the world.
Values are what matter most to us. They motivate and guide us. They are the passion in our hearts, the reason we do the things we do.
In a world that can feel increasingly divided, values help unite us. They are the glue holding together our communities and wider society.
The theme this year is Values Bring Us Together. So on World Values Day let’s put our values into action, reaching across the growing barriers that divide us to build stronger communities and a more united world. Celebrations take place from 1-31 October and ValuesJam is a great way to be involved with values-led conversations in your community.

We believe that the value of TOGETHERNESS is closely related to this year’s World Values Day theme of VALUES Bring Us Together. ValuesJammer Liliana Mandal is this month’s ValuesJammer in the Spotlight
Who are you?
My name is Liliana, I am dyslexic, dyspraxic, vegetarian and an occupational therapist with a passion for supporting people with mental health difficulties to build a life worth living.
What are your core values?
My core values are gratitude, because I have so much to be grateful for, and compassion, because through compassion the world becomes a better place.
Why did you join the ValuesJam community?
I joined the ValuesJam community because I love the values card game, which connects people through values.
How are you using your ValuesJam card decks?
I use the cards for my therapeutic groups, I use them as an icebreaker, or a way to start positive conversation, or in my goal setting sessions. They always bring so much insight and they open a window of wisdom.
Fave rock n roll moment of magic from a ValuesJam session?
When a client flips over a ValuesJam card and instantly the value on the card they picked resonates with them, and they realize that it is a value they hold dear. This simple thing can truly help someone to understand themselves and their goals for the future.
How could more TOGETHERNESS improve the world?
By recognising our togetherness and actively engaging in collective actions, we can create a more peaceful, equitable and sustainable world.
